Plexbot

Plexbot

A private media server shared between friends: movies, TV, anime and more, streamed through Plex. Members can request new titles and get a message when they're ready to watch.

Invite-only. You'll need a free Plex account (create one here) and an invite code the first time. Sign-in happens on Plex's own secure site, so we never see your password.

What you get

  • Movies, TV, anime and cartoons in one place
  • Watch on your phone, TV, console or browser with the free Plex app
  • Request anything, even titles that aren't out yet
  • A message on Discord or email when your request is ready

Before you start: you need a free Plex account

Plexbot runs on Plex. You sign in here with a plex.tv account, and your invite code only works once you can sign in to that account. The account is free and takes about two minutes.

1

Create your free Plex account

  1. Go to plex.tv/sign-up.
  2. Sign up with your email, or with Google, Apple or Facebook.
  3. Open the confirmation email from Plex and verify your address.
  4. Check you can sign in at app.plex.tv. No payment or Plex Pass is needed.

2

Sign in to Plexbot with Plex

Click Sign in with Plex above. A Plex window opens; sign in there (we never see your password), and you'll come straight back here.

3

Enter your invite code

The first time, you'll be asked for the invite code you were given. Once it's accepted, Plexbot appears in your Plex apps automatically.

Your Plex account is yours to look after

Your plex.tv account belongs to you, not to Plexbot. You're responsible for keeping it secure and accessible: use a strong password, turn on two-step verification in your Plex account settings, and keep your email address up to date. Plexbot can't reset your Plex password, recover a locked account or change your Plex email. For that, use "Forgot password?" on the Plex sign-in page, or contact Plex support.

What Plexbot gives you, and what Plex gives you

Plexbot (this site)

The library

  • The movies, TV, anime and cartoons on the Plexbot server
  • Requests for new titles, and a message when they're ready
  • Remote streaming on any device, including phones, at no cost to you. The server's Plex Pass covers everyone it's shared with.
  • Pay what you can: chip in whatever you can afford, perhaps part of what you save by not needing other streaming services. Everyone gets the same access, whatever they give.
Plex, free account

The apps and your login

  • Your sign-in and the Plex apps for phone, TV, console and browser
  • Plex's own free movies, shows and live TV channels (with ads)
  • Everything you need to watch Plexbot
  • Run by Plex Inc., not by Plexbot
Plex Pass, paid by Plex

Optional extras for your own account

  • Not needed for Plexbot. You can stream Plexbot remotely without it.
  • Worth it if you run your own Plex server, or want Plex Pass features on your own account
  • Monthly, yearly or lifetime. Lifetime is currently $749.99; check plex.tv/plex-pass for current prices
  • Bought from and supported by Plex, not Plexbot: Plexbot gets no part of it
